Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

The Caregiver's Desk ("we," "us," "our") publishes practical guides for people managing an aging parent's paperwork, finances, and logistics. This policy explains what information we collect when you use thecaregiversdesk.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us directly. When you submit an email address to download a free checklist, sign up for guide updates, or purchase a product, we collect that email address and any name or payment details you provide as part of that transaction.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the Site may use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) that automatically collect standard technical data — your approximate location (city/region level, derived from IP address), browser and device type, pages visited, and how you arrived at the Site. We use this in aggregate to understand what content is useful; it isn't used to identify you personally.

Purchase information. If you buy a digital product from us, payment is processed by a third-party platform (currently Gumroad). We receive confirmation that a purchase was made and the email address to deliver the product to — we do not receive or store your card details.

2. How we use your information

  • To send you the specific checklist or printable you requested
  • To deliver a digital product you purchased
  • To occasionally send new guides, checklists, or product updates, if you've opted in — you can unsubscribe from any of these emails at any time
  • To understand which content is helpful, in aggregate, so we can improve the Site
  • To maintain the security and proper functioning of the Site

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.

3. Cookies and tracking technologies

The Site may use cookies or similar technologies for analytics (to understand traffic patterns) and, if we run advertising through Google AdSense, to serve and measure ads. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect some site functionality but won't prevent you from reading any article or guide.

4. Third-party services we use

We rely on a small number of outside providers to run the Site. Each handles data according to its own privacy policy:

  • Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery
  • MailerLite — email signup and delivery of requested checklists
  • Google Analytics — aggregate traffic analytics
  • Google AdSense — advertising, once enabled; Google may use cookies to serve relevant ads based on your visits to this and other sites
  • Gumroad — payment processing and digital product delivery for purchases

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers listed above, to the extent needed for them to perform their function (for example, giving MailerLite your email address so it can send you the checklist you requested), or if required by law.

6. Data retention

We retain email addresses for as long as you remain subscribed, and purchase records for as long as needed for accounting and support purposes. You can request deletion at any time — see Section 8.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe from any email at any time using the link in that email, or by contacting us directly.
  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to any legal obligation we have to retain certain records.
  • Correct inaccurate information we hold about you.

To exercise any of these, contact us using the information in Section 11.

8. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.

9. California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. Contact us to exercise these rights.

10. International visitors

The Site is operated in the United States. If you're visiting from outside the U.S., understand that your information will be processed in the U.S., which may have different data protection rules than your home country. If you are in the European Economic Area or UK, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, including access, correction, deletion, and objection to processing — contact us to exercise these rights.

11. Contact us

Questions about this policy, or want to exercise any of the rights above? Email us at hello@thecaregiversdesk.com.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Material changes will be reflected here; continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.

This policy describes our practices in plain language and is not a substitute for legal advice. If you have specific compliance requirements (for example, as a business handling this policy on your own behalf), consult a licensed attorney.
